The Swiss brand unveils the Samra Origins collection featuring a limited-edition Tanzania coffee and personalized machines with the collaboration logo.
Nespresso presents the worldwide launch of its latest collection of coffees, machines and accessories in collaboration with Samra Origins, the artisanal coffee brand co-created with music icon Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye. The collection includes the new Limited Edition Samra Origins Tanzania coffee, crafted with 100% Arabica beans from the Northern Highlands of Tanzania, and a customized Vertuo Pop+ machine.
Collaboration inspired by family roots
The collaboration represents a central idea: coffee not just as a beverage, but as a shared experience with loved ones, capable of sparking conversations and creativity. Inspired by The Weeknd’s roots, Samra Origins is a love letter to his mother, Samra, whose unconditional support has shaped his journey and inspired his art. The alliance with Nespresso celebrates the beauty of daily coffee rituals and authentic connections that emerge in those intimate moments, highlighting coffee as a creative catalyst that goes beyond the cup.
Single-origin coffee from Mount Kilimanjaro
The Limited Edition Samra Origins Tanzania is a single-origin coffee crafted with 100% washed Arabica from the Mount Kilimanjaro region. This blend combines The Weeknd’s contemporary artistic sensibility with Nespresso’s coffee expertise, achieving a profile with balanced acidity, delicate fruity notes and hints of dry cereal. According to Abel Tesfaye, “when I was a child, coffee was a deeply meaningful ritual. That connection inspired my own journey, and creating a coffee brand felt natural”.
Availability and launch strategy
Nespresso first announced this collaboration in spring 2025, alongside its sponsorship of The Weeknd’s North American “After Hours Til Dawn” tour. New launches include a Vertuo Pop+ Samra Origins with the collaboration logo and the Limited Edition coffee in Original format, debuting online and at Nespresso boutiques on September 15th. The Vertuo system version will launch later on October 27th. The collection also includes a Travel Mug and Tumbler Samra Origins featuring the distinctive design and sophisticated color palette.
